Now who doesn’t like a good old sausage roll ? Now this Sausage roll is the biggest and tastiest I have ever had especially with the added mushroom , onion and peppers and the added seasoning herbs, so sit back and let your taste buds sweep over you lol thanks for watching please don’t forget to like , share and subscribe.
Ingredients
500 grams of Sausage meat
2 Slices of back bacon or streaky bacon
5 Mushrooms cleaned and chopped
2 Baby Peppers
1 Medium Onions finely chopped
1 Slice of bread to make breadcrumbs
1 Teaspoon of Sage
1 Teaspoons of Rosemary
1 Teaspoons of Italian seasoning
1 Sheet of Puff pastry
1 Egg for glazing the pastry
Method
Finely chop the Onions
Clean and chop the mushrooms
Finely chop the baby peppers
In a frying pan add 1 Tablespoons of oil
Add the chopped Bacon pieces and gently fry
On a low to medium heat add the peppers
When peppers are starting to soften
Add the Chopped onions gently fry
Add the Chopped mushrooms
You may need to add a little oil
When all cooked remove from heat and allow to cool completely
In a large mixing bowl add the sausage meat
Add the breadcrumbs mix to combine
Now add the Rosemary, Sage and Italian seasoning
Mix well to combine
Shape the sausage meat into 2 pieces
Lay out the Puff Pastry
And 1 part of the sausage meat and lay onto the puff pastry
Add the cooled stuffing mix on top of the sausage meat
Now add the second Layer of sausage meat on top of the stuffing
Lightly press down
Now roll the puff pastry up and at the end fold in the pastry closing the sausage meat up
Now make cuts into the Pastry to release any build up of steam
Egg wash the top of the pastry
Bake in a preheated oven 170c bake for 50 min to 1 hour (depending on your oven )
Serve when golden
