Augmented reality technologies allow to diversify the educational process, to get into the details of mechanisms, to plunge into the micro world or to imagine large-scale things such as architectural buildings, bridges.
At the Crystal Physics Department V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University 3 mobile applications with augmented reality technology were developed. They can be effectively implemented in lessons, mini-projects, extracurricular activities.
Skyscrapers AR [1] is a new form of augmented reality application that offers users to be close to the world's famous skyscrapers, walk around the building and view it in detail from all sides, finding out the features of the architectural work. Build your own skyscrapers from sheets of paper, pencils and other materials.
The Da Vinci Machines AR [2] app will create augmented reality and transport you to the incredible world of Leonardo da Vinci's inventions. Do you want to create a 3D museum of Leonardo's inventions or build a self-sustaining lesson on Da Vinci cities? When studying the topic of potential and kinetic energy, you can demonstrate the work of a catapult, build it yourself and check the range!
Bridges AR [3] application will create augmented reality and transport you to the incredible world of bridges. Enabling the "Fly" mode, you will run across the bridge or make an unforgettable flight over it.
Modern lessons and projects with augmented reality are fun, creative and exciting. We create a 3D museum of modern unique bridges or build cities on the basis of improvised materials. We study the basic structures of bridges. We are making a virtual exhibition of Leonardo's inventions. We travel around the countries and get acquainted with outstanding skyscrapers, towers of the world. All this is possible with the help of developed mobile applications.
