time for episode No.39!
As mentioned in the video, we increased the volume of our leg/ hip strengthening session by adding reps to each round. So it is 3x10 now. You missed the exercises? Please refer back to episode 38.
We also continued on the theme of "Qi Yao Ping" - The breath shall be even.
Important to understand with this cue is that despite it being an important feature and "goal" to achieve, it is also used as a tool to become aware of restrictions within your movement patterns. So in this week's sessions, the assignment was to simply become aware of the breath and to notice how it changes when moving through the palm changes and Tuo Qiang Shi Posture. Without the aspiration to "change" it to become "even". That's for later.
We also started our Bagua Zhang "Fight Club" this week.
In this first session, which will be shared only within my members forum, we reviewed the most fundamental principles of human alignment, how to maintain and how to break it. We introduced three modules for practice.
1. Push Hands Style Practice (for soft qualities)
2. San Da Style Practice (for concrete technical work under pressure)
3. Guided Chaos Practice (for work under pressure and "less than optimal circumstances") aka the "bar fight".
