One thing that I didn't realize is that there are so many temples in Hampi and I know not everyone likes temples. This list for people who just want to do crazy and fun stuff at Hampi. In this video I will talk about 7 fun things to do in hampi that aren’t temples. Like I said in my previous video that the other side is more hippie and for part lovers.

Hippie island is one of the most chilled out and laid back places I have visited in recent past. You will be blown away by the free spirits of the hippie community at the island. It’s the new land of hippies. Infact hampi is called as the new Goa of the south - The parties, the backpacks, the dreads, the harem pants. The only difference is One has no beaches, the other has no ancient ruins.

And now I reveal to you 7 fun things to do in Hampi.

#7 Staying at Campsites

This is one thing which you must do.. I am glad that I decided to stay in a campsite and let me tell you this was my first time experience sleeping in tents and guess what I stayed here for 8 days and the experience was wonderful. Tents amid the splendid boulders, night filled with campfire and music, the glittering sky its just amazing.


#6 Chilling at Cafes

Chilling at cafe, eating delicious curries, israeli platter and watching reruns of friends or the latest movies, playing board games and meeting new travel friends are some of the things very common during the day in Hampi.

#5 Cliff Jumping at Sanapur Lake

Sanapur Lake is truly a beautiful gem in the Hippie side of Hampi. There are signs everywhere which says it’s unsafe to swim in the water because of crocodile but I spoke to the locals and they said there aren’t any crocodiles here. Still do this at your own risk. The jumping point is about 35ft high, the water is good.

#4 Coracle ride on the Tungabhadra River

An experience you will not want to miss is taking a coracle boat ride on the Tungabhadra river. Coracle boat is a bowl shaped boat like a basket which is generally rowed with one paddle. It is made with thin bamboo strips.

#3 Bouldering

Hampi is a heaven for Bouldering enthusiasts. Bouldering is a must for adventure fans and there are shops which provide local outfit at the island, which provides services and equipment to stone climbers.

#2 Sunrise at Anjanadri

A total of 575 steps helps you reach there. Reach the top and feel the breeze bounce off your face. I got up quite early but I had to hurry to catch the right moment.


#1 Jeep Safari

Jeep safari is an exciting activity for the tourists and an opportunity to sight the extensive and exclusive. It is one of the exclusive things to do in Hampi but but but it’s very difficult to get a jeep safari I got lucky coz I met a few people who took me along with them to experience this joyful drive.
