Broadly regarded as the world’s most competitive football league in 2022, the English topflight wasn’t always held in this high regard universally. Triggered by United’s ‘99 European treble, this started to change and into the 2000s, England took a step-up in the world-rankings. Boosted by the growing foreign presence, both on the pitch, as well as the side-line, the strength of the teams, made the competition among the top 4 exhilarating and thus viewership increased, becoming more globalised. The noughties belong to the BPL and though the 90s featured a far greater number British forwards, we saw a more interesting class in the following decade so here’s my list ranking the top 10 strikers from the 2000s-era of the Premier League...
