The Nicky Henderson-trained Shishkin (7/4 favourite) recorded his sixth Grade One success with a gritty performance in the Alder Hey Aintree Bowl Chase. Ridden by Nico de Boinville, the nine-year-old stayed on strongly on his first start over an extended three miles to run down long-time leader Ahoy Senor. The winning trainer revealed afterwards that a King George VI Chase bid is now in the offing.
