Calling for collective action from the public in taking precautionary steps, #governments in promoting #publichealth mitigation, and hospitals in preparing for potential surges and patient influxes, Dr. Viswanath says, “this is not going anywhere anytime soon”. He adds that while the spread of infection is inevitable, it is in our hands to minimize the effects.
Dr. Viswanath addressed the issue of inequities in the context of vaccines, treatments, and access to resources during this crisis. He says, “political willingness” and the preparedness to do more is the only way we can navigate through these inequities.
