What do you think of this adorable plaid dress? I love how light and airy and summery it is. This one was a pretty quick sewing project even though I did lots of hand sewing. Stay tuned for the vintage style pattern for the dress bodice coming out soon! I love how it paired with a simple pleated skirt and button front closure. Honestly I was a little bit nervous about the button front closure because I wanted to preserve the look of the intersecting bias stripes in the front but it turns out the buttons don’t make too much of a visual disruption. I’m loving all of these mid century vintage summer sewing projects… but you know what comes next… vintage fall clothing!!
Whether you just want a fun airy summer dress or would like to cosplay as a 1950s housewife this dress is perfect! The cotton lawn fabric keeps this dress is super lightweight. I also love how the shape of the bodice and skirt come together to give a snatched waist ⌛️
I hope you enjoy this video and happy sewing!!
xoxo
