Lewis Hamilton slams Mercedes in expletive-ridden radio message after Dutch GP ruined.
Lewis Hamilton ripped into his Mercedes team with an astonishing expletive-ridden rant after losing the lead to Max Verstappen at the Dutch Grand Prix. The Mercedes star was left distraught after the team decided to pit George Russell during the safety car, leaving Hamilton exposed on the restart on Lap 61. The 37-year-old had been in a prime position to win his first race of the season after Verstappen pitted for soft tyres while the safety car was deployed. "I can't believe you guys fucked me, can't tell you how pissed I am.”
For the second year running, Verstappen took the checkered flag at his home race in Zandvoort to make it 10 wins from 15 races, giving him a 109-point lead over Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez. Russell came home in second place to equal his best finish of the season, while Charles Leclerc took the last podium place from Hamilton in the final laps.
Who know what could have been the outcome if Mercedes had kept Russell out leaving Verstappen having to overtake both Mercedes for the win. But if only…..
