Roberto Duran is one of the most legendary boxers of all time. Known as hands of stone Roberto Duran ended his career with a amazing record of 103-16. Roberto Duran at 28-0 fought the legendary Scottish warrior and Hall of Fame Ken Buchanan who was 43-1 for the WBA Lightweight championship in a 15 round showdown. Ken Buchanan didn’t have any concerns prior to the fight because Roberto Duran didn’t have any recognizable names. Roberto Duran was relentless throughout the entire fight. The end of the fight was off it appeared that Roberto Duran hit Buchanan with a low blow after the bell in the 13th round and the Scottish couldn’t continue. Ken Buchanan once said when he wins he is a Brit and when he loses he is Scottish. However he wasn’t able to say what he was after suffering severe injuring in the abdomen area from Duran’s low low. However because Buchanan elected to trade shots with Duran after the bell he opened himself to Roberto’s unpredictable fighting style. After the Buchanan fight Roberto Duran fought Esteban De Jesus and the boxing world was shocked when he lost a 10 round non championship fight. Esteban De Jesus knocked down Roberto Duran in this fight and was the first loss of Roberto Duran’s career. 8 years later Roberto Duran would step in the ring with undefeated Sugar Ray Leonard (27-0). Roberto Duran stepped in the ring with Ray Leonard with a record of 71-0. After defeating Ray Leonard Robert Duran went through several career setbacks however on 1983 Duran earned his 3rd weight class championship title against then Super Welterweight Champion Davey Moore. On 1989 Roberto Duran earned his 4th divisional championship from former WBC Middleweight Champion Iran Barkley. Iran Barkley was determined to repay the damages and pain Duran did to his friend Davey Moore back in 1983 for his Super Welterweight Championship.

Some of the most notable fights in his career was Ken Buchanan Esteban De Jesus Sugar Ray Leonard Thomas Hearns Wilfred Benitez Marvin Hagler and Iran Barkley.
