Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says millennials are “taking over” from boomers in the electoral roll, with Gen X “wedged in the middle”.
According to RedBridge polling, millennials make up 36 per cent of the voters’ roll in Victoria for 2022.
Meanwhile, boomers dropped from 56 per cent in 2012 to 38 per cent this year.
“It's the same story in NSW – where millennials in 2012 were 17 per cent of the electoral roll, Gen X were 25 per cent and boomers were 57 per cent,” Mr Clennell said.
“In 2022, boomers are down to 40 per cent, millennials are catching up at 34 per cent and Gen X is at 26 per cent.”
