On Wednesday, a Russian air strike hit civilians in a maternity hospital in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol as the conflict between the two countries continues to escalate. Three people, including a child, were killed in the attack with 17 others wounded. These deaths add to the over 1,000 civilians that have been injured or killed in the war that started after Russia invaded the country late last month.“How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror,” Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy tweeted in response to the attack. “Close the sky right now! Stop the killings! You have power but you seem to be losing humanity.”He called it an “atrocity” and said: "People, children are under the wreckage."The continued attacks on civilians and the airstrike on the hospital led to advocates for refugees and humanitarian aid condemning the acts of the Kremlin.“The targeting and bombing of a children's hospital in Mariupol, Ukraine is a horrifying testament to illegality and impunity as well as inhumanity," International Rescue Committee CEO David Miliband said in a prepared statement.
