Now we are going to talk about the seals and in more detail about the materials that we use for the gasket.
We use 4 different materials.
The first one is silicone.
It’s a very simple material that’s very soft, very hypoallergenic, and durable, so it’s a nice material to use.
We also use a higher grade of silicone that we call “liquid core technology” because it’s a liquid silicone.
The manufacturing process is slightly different, but it ensures a more comfortable goggle with a softer seal, a more transparent seal, and it’s even more hypoallergenic, more durable, and softer.
Then very often we use TPR, a thermal plastic rubber.
It’s a very good compromise between cost and performance, so we usually use it on mid-range goggles.
But the best quality is Japanese rubber.
It has all the characteristics of liquid silicone, for example it’s hypoallergenic, soft, durable, it’s “full memory”, so it always goes back to its original shape to ensure the best fit and the best quality of goggles.
We use this Japanese rubber in our Cobra series, our high-end racing goggles, because it’s really the best material you can find on the market.
