After 13 years in Golden State, the Warriors decided to let Klay walk this summer, ultimately joining the Mavericks on a 3-year, $50M deal. This all started last offseason when Mike Dunleavy Jr. took over as GM, his goal was and is to try and get the most out of Curry's years left in the league. Part of that plan was not overpaying to keep an aging Klay Thompson. Last season he had some struggles and going 0-10 from three versus the Kings in the Play-In was the peak of it, but he looks to change the narrative, providing his sharpshooting and perimeter defense to a championship contender in Dallas. This Mavs team was three wins away from being champions and now they add a four time champ to the mix. Can Klay bounce back in Dallas or will he only decline more? Let's talk about it.
