Advance Australia Director Liz Storer says she believes New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern "made a complete fool of herself on the world stage," following her recent demands aimed at Scott Morrison on deportation laws.
Ms Ardern had taken a public swipe at Prime Minister Morrison, demanding Australia stop deporting its people and problems to New Zealand.
Australia's deportation policy includes anyone who has committed a serious criminal offence to be deported to their country of origin.
Around 2,000 New Zealanders have been deported under the policy.
Ms Ardern said some of those who are deported arrived in Australia when they were children and only have tenuous links to New Zealand.
Ms Storer said Ms Ardern undertook "the worst possible way" of attempting to broach the topic with Mr Morrison.
"This was embarrassing for her".
