Who were the Hittites?
The Hittites, an ancient Anatolian civilization, thrived during the Late Bronze Age (1600-1200 BCE). Known for their ironworking skills and empire encompassing Anatolia and northern Syria, they left a rich legacy of architecture, diplomacy, and cultural influence. The Hittites faced an enigmatic decline, possibly linked to the catastrophic events of the late Bronze Age collapse. The Hittite military was a fierce enemy of the ancient Egypt and made successful use of chariots. The most prominent Archaeological finding is the Lion Gate of Hattusa.
