This federal election is "not very exciting" as neither Anthony Albanese or Scott Morrison can seem to land the "knockout blow," says former Howard government minister Peter McGauran.
"It's a hard election to watch ... it's not very exciting – it's certainly not inspirational," he told Sky News Australia.
"The prime minister is trying to nail down Albanese, who's trying to stay a small target."
