I can't believe I'm making a Twinkie hot dog to start with. I made one earlier and Darlene, who's Executive Producer, likes it and I'm a little alarmed about that as well. I'm going to deep fry the hot dogs first, because they wouldn't be hot if I didn't. I'm going to take the Twinkies and I do this with a very heavy heart.
I feel like I'm betraying my trade here. It's one of the few things that I am actually going to fry, but I don't think I would eat myself, but in the interests of publicity and information and the wonderful people that are filming here today, I'm taking one for the team.
You've all heard about donuts being used as buns for hot dogs. It's a sad day at The Chip Shop. I'm actually, having a very good time cooking things like this. It's just, this is just bizarre.
What you need to do is you need the Twinkie to encompass the hot dog, so you've got to put it in the middle and you've got to squash it down, so it looks like that.
Actually, the cameraman had a bite, and said it wasn't quite as bad, as he thought it would be. But I've got standards. You know what? I'm going to have a bite of this. I've talked this down so much, I've got to have bite of it. I'm regretting saying that already. I can't think of any redeeming feature of this.
I'm cooking it, but I'm going to try it, only because you know what, it's a pretty bad form when a chef won't eat his own cooking. Everything about this is hard. It's kind of falling apart, as I put it in, but I thinks it's going to be okay. But you know what? We go to all these nice restaurants and we have all this nice food. I'm going to present this in such a way that you wouldn't know what it was, although I've told you.
