These powerful sportfish can be found in bays, estuaries, rivers and out in the blue around most of the country and take a wide variety of offerings. Kingfish have a penchant for live baits, hardbodies and soft plastics and have a 'don't give up attitude'.
In order to keep kingfish away from reefy bottoms or standing structure such as pylons, you'll need some fancy rod work and quick thinking. You'll also need top quality gear, as inferior rods, reels and line will be shown up within seconds of hooking one of these brawlers.
