To make sure the students got what you taught, teachers use CCQs. This means you ask the students about what they understood from the explanation you performed so that you can build up on it.
Some teachers think it's a taboo to teach the students the form of the tense and its components. This is normal and acceptable. Some students do not get the tense till you explain its form explicitly. No worries to do so.
