Falafel and Hummus are traditional middle eastern delicacy, it is one of the popular deep fried snack from the middle east and is usually served with hummus. Typically Falafel is eaten on its own but it can also be enjoyed as a filling for pita bread or a wrap.
In this video I have shown how to perfectly master a falafel without fail. The recipe includes how to make chickpea falafel with detailed photo and video.

For Falafel
Ingredients:
Chickpea – 2 Cups (washed and soaked overnight)
Coriander Leaves – ½ Cup
Spring Onion – ½ Cup
Green Chilli – 1 (Chopped)
Salt to Taste
Garlic Cloves – 8-9 Pcs
Roasted Cumin Powder – ½ Tsp
Baking Soda – ¼ Tsp
Oil for Frying
Instructions:
In a grinder, add Chickpea, Coriander leaves, Spring Onion, Garlic cloves , Cumin Powder, Salt and Baking Soda.
Grind into coarse mixture.
Let the mixture refrigerate in fridge for 4-5 hours.
Now shape the falafel mix into small balls.
Heat oil in a deep pan and fry them until golden brown.
Drain on kitchen towel.
Serve Hot with Hummus.
For Hummus
Ingredients:
Chickpea -1/2 Cup (soaked overnight and boiled)
Garlic Cloves – 3-4
Sesame Seeds – 1 Tbsp
Salt to Taste
Cumin Powder- ¼ Tsp
Olive Oil – 1 Tbsp
Juice of ½ a lemon
Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – for garnish
Instructions:
In a blender, add boiled chickpeas, sesame seeds, olive oil, garlic pods, cumin powder and salt.
Grind into smooth paste. Add little water if required.
Squeeze juice of half lemon and mix well.
Transfer it to a serving bowl and garnish with some kashmiri red chilli powder.
