Speed of light in mi/hr given speed of light in m/s, unit conversions in physics:
We convert the speed of light from meters per second into miles per hour, given the conversion factor 1in=2.54cm.
We tack on the conversion factors to get from meters to centimeters, centimeters to inches, inches to feet and feet to miles.
Next, we tack on the conversion factors to get from seconds to minutes and from minutes to hours.
Finally, we smash all the numbers in a calculator, taking care to wrap the denominator factors in parentheses, and we obtain the speed of light in miles per hour.
