After a quiet first inning, the White Sox offense came out swinging in their afternoon game against the Colorado Rockies.
Lance Lynn worked his way through a solid 3.0 innings in his second start of spring training.
Hanser Alberto opened the second inning with a triple, and was the first runner of the inning to score after Victor Reyes popped a sacrifice fly into right field. Leury García showed off his star power early in the game, launching a ball over the right field wall for a 2-run home run, giving the team a 3-0 lead.
The Rockies closed the gap, putting up four runs over the next few innings. Another sacrifice fly, this time from Jake Marisnick, tied the game 4-4.
A late inning push secured the deal for the White Sox. With men on the corners, a balk from Rockies pitcher Jeff Criswell gave the White Sox a 1-run lead. Lenyn Sosa tacked on an insurance run in the top of the eighth inning, sending a ground ball to right fielder Nolan Jones. The hit sent Moisés Castillo home, giving the White Sox a 6-4 lead.
