Time to turn our attention to the offensive side of the ball as we continue our 2023 NFL Scouting Combine preview for potential Miami Dolphins targets heading into this year’s NFL Draft.
Quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends will take the field on Saturday, March 4 before offensive linemen and running backs do their on-field drills on Sunday, March 5. These positional groupings are of the utmost importance for the Dolphins this offseason since Mike Gesicki is likely to walk in free agency, the Dolphins line remains unsettled outside of Terron Armstead, Connor Williams and Robert Hunt, and the team currently has no running backs under contract as Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson, Salvon Ahmed and Myles Gaskin are all free agents.
While Mike McDaniel and Chris Grier have shown a great deal of commitment towards Tua Tagovailoa this offseason, the Dolphins scouting department will have the opportunity this weekend to look at the participating quarterback prospects in the event they’d like to add another arm in this year’s draft. Additionally, the team seems pretty set at wide receiver with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle leading the way, but there are numerous high-level wide receivers that have been invited to the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine if the coaching staff has any questions regarding the quality level of those behind Hill and Waddle on the depth chart.
The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine is held in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium from February 27 - March 6. The NFL invited a total of 319 prospects to this year’s combine.
