With the NBA-China relationship at a very delicate point, I thought it would be timely to drop a video on a player I wanted to touch on for a while. As the Rockets scored big with 7 foot 6 Chinese NBA superstar Yao Ming, Yi Jianlian was a prospect that many NBA fans and scouts thought had the potential to follow in Yao's footsteps. In this vid, I go over Yi's chapter in the NBA and not only why he failed to make the same impact, but also where he is surprisingly now and what he means to basketball in China.
