Are you an Introvert? Or do you have Social Anxiety? … What’s the difference?

If you’ve ever felt shy, socially awkward, or nervous before meeting new people or hanging out in large crowds, you may be an introvert or hav social anxiety. But how to introversion and social anxiety compare? And how do you know whether you’re introverted or socially anxious?

You’ve probably heard of introversion vs extroversion from personality tests like the Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator test (MBTI) and other personality trait assessments, but social anxiety is not something that is mentioned as much. Yet it’s incredible how common social anxiety is.

For example, some studies say that 40% of us have glossophobia (the fear of public speaking). That’s a lot!

I did some digging into this a while back to better understand myself. Knowing yourself is crucial to improving your self confidence and overcoming social awkwardness or shyness.
