This silent promotional film demonstrating the U.S. Air Force's ballistic missile capabilities was shot at Vandenburg Air Force Base. The film starts with footage of a Titan II crew in a missile procedures trainer (thanks to Dr. David Stumpf, author of the "Titan II" book from the University of Arkansas Press, with help figuring this out. He says you can tell because of the cement block wall behind the guy turning the second key). At :42 keys are inserted into the readiness and launch control and -- it being a "no lone zone" -- keys are turned simultaneously to authorize a launch. At :57 the silo door swings back and the launch begins. It is likely that the footage of the missile rising in the silo is different than once out of the silo since (again -- according to Dr. Stumpf) the missile in the silo had what were called belly bands and the missile that is clear of the silo does not. Dr. Stumpf believes the missile shown rising out of the silo at 1:53 is likely N-22. At 3:32 the missile stages over the Pacific and at 3:34 the lower stage drops away. (N.B. if it is N-22 then the date of the launch is 20 June 1963, airframe SN 61-2743).
At 4:30 the Minuteman launch facility is seen. The missile being shown launched here is a Minuteman IB according to Stumpf, who identifies it that way because the aft the skirt at the very aft end of the missile is cylindrical and Minuteman IA was flared. The re-entry vehicle looks like a Mark 11. This launch was also at Vandenberg.
