Tyler Bertuzzi was viciously crosschecked by Stephen Johns, with no penalty called. Off the very next faceoff, Bertuzzi goes back to the front of the net, only to be abused further. Goalie Michael Leighton takes two jabs at the back of Bertuzzi's legs, and one of those jabs looks like it got Bertuzzi in the nether region. Bertuzzi showed a lot of discipline through all the liberties takes on him but finally had enough of Leighton's stick assault and swatted it away from him. Leighton then hit Bert in the back of the head with his blocker. The referees chose this time to find their whistles and attempt to do their job, though the game had gotten pretty out of control by this time. Here are the penalties called, note that Bertuzzi was called for 2 minors so the Griffins remained on their previous 5on3.
