There is a tutorial on a nymph technique I call Checking-the-Indicator. This is nothing new and has been written about in fly-fishing books for years, just not as much as the more mainstream nymphing techniques. I do find checking-the-indicator is helpful at times while nymphing under an indicator. The best advise I can offer anyone who wants to improve their nymphing skills, is to avoid using one method to nymph fish. There are many different ways to nymph fish, each has it's pros and cons. Knowing when to switch from one technique from another is important. Knowing how to use the different methods of nymphing is equally important. And lastly, working out a nymph fishing system that works for you by, using all the nymphing techniques is equally important as the prior points.
