In this week’s episode of Tying Tuesdays, watch as Brady ties The Prince of Darkness!
"The Prince of Darkness is not your typical soft hackle bug. I have seen this pattern done a dozen different ways. I have also tied various versions of it but really prefer the recipe showcased in this video. With the greatly oversized tungsten bead and the added wraps of weight, his fly is a bomb that will find depth quickly. It is great in deep hole situations when you need to get a tandem rig down and slowed to the bottom current speeds. Keep a keen eye out for sub-surface brush and debris as this bug will find it if it is in your run. Although it is heavy the “bugginess” is not sacrificed. With the classic Prince Nymph wing buds and the addition of the partridge soft hackle it catches lips."
