“My only son, Drygin Albert Olegovich was killed while doing his military duty in the special military operation on the territory of Ukraine. He finished the Mikhailovskaya Military (Artillery) Academy in Saint Petersburg, his rank was lieutenant. He was a platoon commander. On June 5 (2022) a tragic event happened and he died. I’m proud of him. He is my pride. It’s our pride. I think that every man should be a hero.”

STORYLINE:
A monument was opened in Yalta, Crimea, on Friday dedicated to those who fought and were killed during Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.
The opening ceremony took place on the Hill of Glory, a memorial complex to those who died in conflict.
Dozens of people attended, including families of the fallen servicemen.
Liliya Tarasova, the mother of a 22-year-old soldier who died in June last year, said that she was proud of her son.
The ceremony was held on the first anniversary of the conflict in Ukraine.
