I will answer this question not from just my own perspective but from some of the biggest names in the climbing gym industry.
If you hang around a climbing gym or someone that has a home climbing wall you'll realize pretty quick that volumes or climbing wall volumes are pretty important. But what are they? There are some differences in opinions on this that can lead to confusion and bitterness, nobody needs that.
