The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially announced that German tactician Bruno Labbadia will take charge as the new Head Coach of Nigeria’s Senior Men’s National Team, the Super Eagles. Labbadia, who becomes the 37th coach in the history of the Super Eagles, is set to begin his tenure with immediate effect.
Born in Darmstadt, Germany, Labbadia has a rich history both as a player and a manager. His playing career includes stints at top clubs like Bayern Munich and Hamburger SV, where he won the Bundesliga title. As a coach, Labbadia has managed well-known clubs such as Hertha Berlin, VfB Stuttgart, and VfL Wolfsburg, and holds a UEFA Pro License.
Labbadia’s immediate task will be to lead the Super Eagles in their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
