The Nike Pegasus 40 ($130 MSRP) -and it's slightly older siblings- can often be found at Nike outlet stores on sale for $90 to $70. Even without any sales, it's a great pickup for almost any runner. It's durable, comfortable, affordable, and conforms to most any runner seamlessly. In my 9 years of running experience, no shoe has lasted as well or as long as this one. My running friends all agree, this shoe is a workhorse trainer. It won't hold you back, it's stable, grippy, and comfortable. Sure, you could get lighter, more supportive, or faster shoes, but for the money the Nike Pegasus 40 is the way to go. After more than 300 miles though, they seem to have gone a little flat. It's time for a new pair, what should I get?
