"I'm feeling really precious about the cake, I'm quite nervous about it being eaten or destroyed but it's sort of inevitable. So if someone came in and grabbed all my meringues and ate it, well as long as it tasted nice and they enjoyed it I suppose I'd be alright about it."

15. SOUNDBITE (English) Miss Cakeshead, Organiser:
"I think people are fascinated because you can eat it and it's something that everyone can enjoy whereas art is subjective. Even if you don't like the look of the piece of art, if you eat it it will taste beautiful, so I think it's a way of making sure or it's at least a piece of art that's guaranteed to kind of satisfy everyone because it will taste amazing."
16. Various George Morton-Clark finishing his edible artwork Life's not Fair
17. SOUNDBITE (English) George Morton-Clark, Artist:
"Usually when I work with paint you've got like gloss and oil all over you and then, you know, with this you've got it all over you and you can just start licking your fingers which is great, instead of having to wipe it off with white spirit. So yes, it's all edible, the whole thing, and I mean, you know, I dare anyone to eat it off the floor but that's the whole fun of it, isn't it?"
18. Zoom out George Morton-Clark's Life's not Fair
19. SOUNDBITE (English) George Morton-Clark, Artist:

23. SOUNDBITE (English) Simon Smith, Artist:
"It's (margarine) great to work with because it will get to a certain softness but it won't melt, unless it's very hot. And when I'm doing just the margarine sculpture, if I want a shiny finish I'll use a hairdryer on it and it melts all the workings into a very smooth finish. But 30 seconds too long, it's a puddle, it's all over."

Some of the artists are coming, some say they can't bear to watch, but basically it will just be like a normal birthday cake. A butler will be serving up works of art and in return for that people will be donating to the three charities which we're supporting."
