This is a woman referred for repair of a dislocated lens after complicated cataract surgery. One haptic is in the sulcus with the rest of the lens behind the posterior capsule She has a borderline endothelial cell count and function so we want to try to preserve her cornea if possible. A decision has been made to reposition this lens and use the capsule that's present to support the lens but to suture a haptic to sclera to prevent it from dislocating. This will be done with the haptic externalization technique seen here.
