What is Evaporation? You may have looked at puddles before and wondered why they disappear over time, and in this video, I'll be explaining why puddles disappear, and also what evaporation is, including the applications of it in our day-to-day experience, such as in the water cycle.

So, what is evaporation? Evaporation occurs all around us, and is one of the most important and fundamental processes of the natural world. It can be explained using the kinetic theory of matter, which states that high energy particles are able to escape from liquid to turn into gas if they have enough energy, giving evaporation.
Evaporation is also an incredibly important process in the water cycle, and also helps you cool down when you sweat. In the water cycle, water evaporates from the sea and then condenses to form clouds, and it's this initial evaporation which is important in the formation of clouds.
