We look at 3 drills to help your athletes refine or develop capacity in the butterfly pull-up.
.) Make sure your athletes have the capacity for multiple kipping and strict pull-ups
.) Use all three drills over a period of time to help athletes focus on weak areas.
.) Don't get bound to good reps or no reps. Instead help them develop the pattern first and then increase range of motion over time.
.) Make sure athletes lean back slightly and look up slightly. If they look straight forward they will not be able to complete the movement at first.
.) And remember in these drills the pattern and skill outweighs the importance of reps. So allow athletes to rest when you see the movement break down.
