I had a couple messages asking about the T-Bone ribbon mic I talked about in a recent post on social media and what they sound like, so I put this super quick demo together this week.
Note - I am not a mixing engineer, so the mix is pretty rough. A lot of the little clips I throw up on social media are my attempts at rough mixing the projects I'm working on, I don't spend too much time doing that stuff as there simply isn't enough hours in the day! My focus is on the drumming and the performance, positioning the mics to get a good source sound - my studio has been acoustically treated to create a fairly flat/neutral and dry sound to leave lots of options for mixing afterwards.
I usually use these mics as a pair as overheads or room mics!
When I supply the audio files they come in raw WAV format, but I can process them to some extent in the context of the track I'm working on. More details are up on my website in the FAQ section here: [ Ссылка ]
The TBone ribbons really do capture a full sound, often making up large part of the sound in general. Let me know what you think 🥁
