Modernisation of Estadio Santiago Bernabeu is not slowing down, although we now know that the official inauguration of the redeveloped venue will not take place in 2022. The roof is finally taking its final shape, although much work still needs to be done when it comes to the metallic facade.
The retractable canopy is by far the most significant change to a facility that Los Blancos fans are interested in. Inside, new commercial spaces and an underground car park will be created. The club museum and players' changing rooms will be expanded. Under the roof there will be a circular panoramic screen, stretching around the entire pitch.
