Head coach Ronald Koeman said on Saturday that Barcelona is missing too many penalties, and that other players aside Lionel Messi must step up and convert them.
The Catalan side have missed seven of the 12 spot-kicks they've been awarded this season.
The last two penalty misses came in Barcelona's win in extra-time against third division club Cornella in the Copa del Rey on Thursday.
Messi did not play on Thursday following a red card in Barcelona's defeat against Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday.
The Argentine forward will also miss Sunday's league match against Elche.
Barcelona are third in the league standings, ten points behind the leaders, Atletico Madrid.
