It's a pretty easy process. First, your own blood in drawn into tubes. The tubes are then placed in a centrifuge to separate red blood cells and white blood cells from the platelets and plasma. The platelet rich plasma is then taken and injected into the scalp. The treatment is comfortable since topical anesthetic or ProNOX is often used to minimize discomfort.
Dr. Patel recommends one treatment session a month for 4 months followed by a maintenance treatment session every 6-9 months. He believes best results are seen when the treatment is combined with Nutrafol, a hair growth supplement, and Rogaine Foam (topical minoxidil).
