International Stress Awareness Day takes place on Wednesday 1st November 2017. This Day is now being recognised around the world. Join the campaign. The theme for this year is SPEAK UP AND SPEAK OUT ABOUT STRESS!
“Stress manifests itself as a physical, psychological or social dysfunction resulting in individuals feeling unable to bridge the gap with the requirements or expectations placed upon them.” But we don't have to put up with it!
As an organisation, ISMAUK exists to advance the education of the public in the field of biological stress. The work of ISMAUK and its membership includes providing advice to members of the public and employers/organisations and includes supporting the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) in the delivery of their requirements for Stress Risk Assessment and the implementation of the HSE Management Standards.
Once a year, we publicise a stress theme with our popular National Stress Awareness Day, normally held annually on the first Wednesday in November. As 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the event, we are celebrating it as International Stress Awareness Week [5th-9thNovember], with a whole five-day programme of stress-related workshops, presentations, fairs and stress helpline that will focus a special degree of media attention on ISMA and its members.
In order to support this high level of activity, in addition to income from its membership, we rely heavily on the goodwill and patronage of our many partners and sponsors.
