Christmas Island or Kiritimati is open after being closed for three years!
We were the first group of anglers to fish out of the famous Ikari house in Three years! The fish were plentiful, untouched and hungry. I can't wait to go back in 2024
On day two we fished wide open water for Milkfish before hitting the flats for Bonefish and Trevally. We found literally acres of Milkfish. To actually hook one of these fish you need to find them in great numbers because they don't aggressively eat what we traditionally catch fish on. They are plant, algae and diatom eaters. Your best bet is to find them eating floating plant life and drift a fly that looks like what they are eating through them, hoping that one will eat it as it grazes on the real stuff. If you are lucky enough to get that one in one hundred fish to eat, your next big challenge is being able to hold on to them.
