The topic of the Red Heifer has to do with the inauguration and cleansing of the future 3rd Jewish Temple. On the 100th day of the Hamas war in Gaza (2024), Abu Ubeida the Hamas spokesman from the al-Qassam Brigade mentioned the recently imported heifers as one of the motivations for the war.

Acquiring the heifers can initiate the biblical sacrificial system described in the Biblical text (Numbers 19). They are almost an anomaly, and must be so pure that they have no more than two other coloured hairs. The heifers safely protected at Tel Shiloh.

The Temple Institute in the Old City of Jerusalem, was started by Jewish Priests and Levites some 30+ years ago, and was considered fringe. But the movement is increasingly more mainstream. They have created the vessels, hand made robes, and musical instruments for Temple use.

The breeder of these 5 red angus heifers, which were sold to the Temple Institute for $50,000 US each, is a Texan, Byron Stinson. These pampered "pets" names are Gulah, Tchiyah, Geulah, Nechamah, Tovah.

This video covers the importance of the Red Heifers in ritual purification, and the possible sites on the Mount of Olives where the altar "outside the camp" might have been located: Near Dominus Flevit Church, the garden of Pater Noster Church, and the area around Beit Ha Hoshen (the only Jewish owned residence on the summit).
