Known as one of the best catchers of his time, Gary was elected to HOF in 2003 as a Montreal Expo and although he was a big part of the Mets' championship victory in 1986, he was and still remains the greatest Expos player ever.
Popular with the Montreal crowd to a degree an athlete today would certainly envy, he is probably only second to hockey legend Maurice Richard in terms of popularity when it comes to sports personalities in the province of Quebec and even beyond. Gary has had a strong impact on the culture of his time and is now and forever a solid local staple.
So here he is ladies and gents:
Le receveur, the catcher, le numéro 8, number 8, GARY CARTER!
Please note that I don't own the copyrights on these pics and song.
Enjoy.
