"POLITICAL MOTHER is a marvel of son et lumière, as ambitious and as heads‐down, hair‐prickingly exhilarating as modern dance gets." ***** THE TELEGRAPH
Israeli-born choreographer Hofesh Shechter is propelling modern dance into the mainstream spotlight. His company is one of the hundreds of artists heading to Wellington for the 2012 New Zealand International Arts Festival.
Adored by the British media and the recipient of a Critics' Circle National Dance Award, Shechter's work has been described as "thrilling" (New York Times) and "awe-inspiring" (The Telegraph).
We bring you his new full-length production, Political Mother, following acclaimed seasons in Berlin, Paris and London's Sadler's Wells, where he is an Associate Artist.
Political Mother is an exhilarating dance work that illuminates the choreographer's own compelling view of the world. It features astonishing ensemble sequences from his company of ten dancers and a band of live musicians that electrify Shechter's pulsating score.
The Festival's Season Ticket passes are now on sale. Season Tickets are pre-paid passes which enable you to purchase tickets ahead of the general public and score you a range of extra benefits, like a 15% discount and free programmes. See www.festival.co.nz for more info.
