Tasmanian Senator Eric Abetz says the excerpts we’ve had from Malcolm Turnbull's new memoir suggests "vindictiveness, trying to get even, salacious gossip and the breaking of confidences”.
“I think it’s quite undignified and unprofessional,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“If you look at the books written by Prime Minister John Howard, Treasurer Peter Costello and Deputy Prime Minister John Anderson, you see statesmanship throughout those books”.
Malcom Turnbull “was the architect of his own demise by foolishly calling that leadership spill,” Mr Abetz said.
While Malcolm was brought down by members of his own party, it is important to remember that “this is exactly what Malcolm and his group did to Tony Abbott”.
Mr Abetz said Malcolm Turnbull’s role in establishing The Guardian Australia would be comparable to a hypothetical situation where “Adam Bandt helped to set up the Spectator”.
