This module describes the calibration of wet mix macadam plant for production of WMM mix. It details the different methods adopted for doing the calibration of the wet mix macadam plant. The calibration can be done by varying the opening of the individual bins or by varying the RPM of the feeder belt attached with the individual bins.
The proportion of different aggregates plays a major role in calibrating the opening gauge of WMM plant. Based on the capacity of the plant i.e. 270 TPH individual aggregates required to be added will be ascertained based on their proportion calculated using the design mix. The feeding hoppers containing the different aggregates needs to be adjusted in such a way that their discharge from the bins shall be exactly equal to their proportion in the mix. This will guarantee the grading requirements of the WMM mix as well as segregation problems associated with the production.
