#7 Are you using antibacterial soap?

Now while to the outside world this question may make sense, it actually is a very silly question.

Eczema is not a bacterial condition like cellulitis or impetigo and in fact adding an antibacterial soap onto the skin can further worsen the rash and make the skin more irritable.

Eczema sufferers use milder versions of everyday soaps and cleansers. Mostly those without all of the perfumes in regular soaps which gives us quite a bit of relief by loosening the skin and making us feel somewhat relaxed.

So the next time you hear this dumb question, feel free to roll your eyes and move on.
